Chairs and Tables have sourced its teak (tectona grandis) from the island of Java. The teak used comes from ecologically managed and sustainable plantations in Indonesia, which are now owned, managed and regulated by the Indonesian government agency, Perum Perhutani, which are responsible for managing a strict policy regarding the size and quantity of trees felled each year together with annual replanting.
Please beware of some other retailers who are trying to pass off lesser grades of teak as "A" grade. The colour of the teak should be consistent thoughout each piece of wood and avoid teak that is very pale. Mature teak should be a brown colour whereas yellow teak is usually harvested from young immature trees or from the outermost part of the tree, know as "sapwood" . There is a significant difference between the two types of wood in terms of the longevity and strength of the furniture produced. Our teak does not need to be treated with teak oil or any other product.

40mm Table Table Top Thickness This teak extra large extending dining table can comfortably seat up to twelve people.
The double butterfly extension leafs are stowed in the table under-frame when not in use.
The table is 120cm wide giving ample room for place settings together with serving dishes and features a central rail, which has been pre-drilled to permit the use of a parasol with a pole diameter of up to 50mm.
Constructed from Grade A teak, fine sanded to a silky smooth finish.
Using only mortise and tennon joinery with doweling, quality brass fittings and a solid brass parasol hole blanking cap.
